Phase N/A
**Sickle Cell Kidney Biorepository Study** Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and Sickle Cell Trait (SCT) can harm the kidneys. This study stores blood and urine samples from people with SCD and SCT to help researchers learn how kidney disease starts and gets worse. The samples are kept safe and linked to medical records. This helps scientists find early signs of kidney problems and create better treatments. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is common and serious in people with SCD and appears earlier than in others. Sickle Cell Trait is also a risk factor for CKD, but we still have much to learn about why and how it progresses. **Key Points:** - **Eligibility:** Must be 18-65 years old, not pregnant, and have certain kidney function levels. - **Commitment:** Involves giving blood and urine samples. - **Purpose:** Helps find better ways to protect kidney health in those with Sickle Cell conditions. Learn more about clinical trials

What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a study designed to test specific interventions or treatments' effectiveness and safety, paving the way for new, innovative healthcare solutions.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
