This study is for young children, ages 3.5 to 6.5 years, who have *sickle cell disease* (SCD). SCD is a blood disorder where red blood cells, which carry oxygen, become sickle-shaped and can't move easily through blood vessels. This can cause pain and other problems. The study aims to test a **school readiness program** designed to prepare these children for school.
Participants will be randomly placed into two groups: one will receive the new school readiness program, while the other will get regular school resources. If you are in the readiness program, you and your child will attend 8 virtual sessions during the summer. These sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours, will be conducted with other families and a teacher. A caregiver interview and assessments will also be part of the study to understand the program's impact.
- **Duration: ** 8 weeks with 8 sessions.
- **Commitment: ** Virtual sessions and interviews with feedback.
- **Eligibility: ** Child must have SCD, be 3.5-6.5 years old, and speak English.
