Phase N/A

This study is about finding the best exercise for kids with sickle cell disease (SCD), a condition where red blood cells are misshaped and can cause pain and other problems. Kids will have a blood test at the start and will fill out forms about their pain and feelings. They will also do fitness tests at the start and end of the study. Children will join either a walking or strengthening exercise program at home, supervised online, 3 times a week for 8 weeks, with each session lasting 45 minutes. The study will take about 10 weeks total.

  • Study lasts 10 weeks with 3 sessions per week for 45 minutes.
  • Participation includes some blood tests, questionnaires, and exercise.
  • Supervised home exercises are done via telehealth.
