**Study Overview:**
This study is testing the safety of a new medicine, **anumigilimab**, for adults with **Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)**. SCD is a blood disorder that can cause pain and other serious problems. The study is called "phase 2a," which means it's an early stage to check how safe the medicine is.

For the first **12 weeks**, doctors will figure out the best dose for each person. Then, for the next **52 weeks**, that dose will be maintained. **Placebo-controlled** means some people might get a fake treatment for comparison.
**Who Can Join:**
- You need to be at least **18 years old**.
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of SCD.
- You should have had 1 to 12 pain episodes needing medical care in the past year.
**Key Points:**

- **Safety:** Focus is on the safety of the medicine.
- **Eligibility:** Must meet specific health criteria to join.
This study is important to find safer and more effective treatments for SCD.
