This study focuses on helping people with serious blood disorders like Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) through a special type of treatment called Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT). This treatment involves using healthy stem cells from a donor to replace the patient's unhealthy cells. To join, patients must have conditions such as SCD or Thalassemia and need a matching sibling donor. They must also be willing to use effective birth control during and after the treatment.
- Study Duration: This is a phase II trial, which means it's in the middle stage of testing and aims to see how safe and effective the treatment is.
- Visits Required: Participants will need regular visits for the treatment and health checks.
- Risks: There are risks like infections or allergic reactions. Patients must be informed about these risks and agree to them.
People with active infections, pregnancy, or severe allergies cannot participate. The study requires careful monitoring, and those with certain illnesses or psychiatric issues may be excluded based on the study team's assessment.
