This study is for people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) who have motor fluctuations, meaning their movements can be shaky or slow at times. The study tests a new drug called AP-472, alongside levodopa, which is a common PD treatment. Some participants will receive a placebo, a harmless pill that doesn't have any medicine, to compare the effects.
The study lasts about 12 weeks. First, there is a screening to check if you qualify. Then, for 4 weeks, your current PD medicines must stay the same. After that, there is an 8-week treatment period where you might get AP-472 or a placebo. You may adjust your levodopa slightly if needed.
- Participation requires 30-80 years old with PD.
- Levodopa should be taken regularly before joining.
- You need to walk independently and swallow pills.
