Phase 3

Study Overview: This study tests a drug called elecoglipron for its safety and effectiveness in helping adults lose weight. The study is for people who are obese (BMI of 30 or more) or overweight (BMI between 25 and 30) and have health issues related to their weight, like high blood pressure or sleep apnea. There are two parts: one for people with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and one for those without.

Study Details: Participants will be given either elecoglipron or a placebo (a dummy pill) daily for 72 weeks. They must be 18 or older, have a stable weight for 90 days, and have tried to lose weight before without success. Approximately 4,500 people will join, with 3,000 in the non-diabetic group and 1,500 in the diabetic group.

Key Points:

  • The study lasts 72 weeks with daily pill intake.
  • Participants will be monitored for weight changes and health safety.
  • Only join if you don't have other serious health issues or type 1 diabetes.
