This study tests a treatment for colorectal cancer, a type of cancer that starts in the colon or rectum. Participants will receive either a combination of drugs called FOLFIRI and bevacizumab, or FOLFIRI, bevacizumab, and another drug called pelareorep. FOLFIRI is a group of chemotherapy drugs, and bevacizumab helps block the growth of blood vessels to the tumor. Pelareorep is an experimental drug being tested.
Key Points:
- The study lasts until patients have at least one tumor check or the cancer worsens.
- 60 patients will be randomly placed into one of the two treatment groups.
- Participants must have tried a previous treatment and meet specific health criteria.
The study looks at how well the cancer responds to the treatment (Objective Response Rate, ORR) and other factors like overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). Candidates should not have certain health issues, like brain metastases or active infections. Women must have a negative pregnancy test. The study is open-label, meaning both researchers and participants know which treatment is being given.
