Phase N/A

This study is about understanding and improving how doctors diagnose and treat certain types of cancers that affect the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. These types of cancers are called Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) cancers, and they can be very hard to find and treat because they often don't show clear symptoms. The study will collect samples of tissue and fluids, like blood, from patients during their regular medical care. The researchers will use these samples to develop new ways to diagnose and treat these cancers more accurately. They are also working on creating new tools like tiny cameras and special technology to help see and treat these cancers better. This study is taking place at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and will last for five years.

  • Participants will be involved in the study for up to 60 months.
  • The study only involves collecting samples during clinical visits.
  • No additional risk from extra sample collection for research purposes.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
