Phase N/A

This study looks at how giving personalized education and genetic counseling can help increase genetic testing for people with a family history of pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is sometimes caused by genes passed down in families. Finding these genes early can help doctors start screening sooner, which might make treatment more successful. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) suggests genetic counseling for people with a close family member who had pancreatic cancer.

**Key points to consider:**

  • The study involves personalized education and genetic counseling.
  • Patients may choose to undergo genetic testing and provide blood or saliva samples.
  • Genetic counseling is done by experts in hereditary disorders.

Participants will receive messages through the Mayo portal (EPIC) about the NCCN guidelines and have the option for genetic counseling. This study is only for those who have a close family member with pancreatic cancer and are active patients at Mayo Clinic Florida in 2023. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals and those with a history of pancreatic cancer cannot take part.
