Mainstreaming Genetics: Evaluation of a Digital Application to Scale and Spread Oncologist-initiated Genetic Testing

Evaluating a digital tool for oncologists to start genetic testing.

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase N/A

This study is testing a new digital tool called GA-Mainstream to help cancer patients understand genetic testing. Genetic testing looks at your DNA to help doctors decide the best treatment for cancer in areas like the breast, ovaries, pancreas, prostate, and colon. Traditionally, patients meet with a genetic counselor before testing, but this takes time. The new tool lets oncologists (cancer doctors) handle this part to make things faster and easier.

3 Key Points:

  • The study involves using the GA-Mainstream digital tool and comparing it to regular care.
  • Participants will take surveys to see if the digital tool helps with understanding and stress.
  • The study requires access to the internet and an electronic device.

Participants need to be 18 or older, speak English, and be receiving genetic testing for cancer. The study will measure stress levels, understanding, and satisfaction with the digital tool. The goal is to see if this tool can make genetic testing clearer and less stressful for patients.
