Phase N/A

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a condition that affects the brain and causes problems with movement, like slow movements (bradykinesia), stiff muscles (rigidity), and shaking (tremor). Some people with PD get Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery, which helps improve these movement issues. This study is checking if people with PD have better movement and can do more activities after they get DBS.

The study will look at things like how fast people can walk, their balance, and their strength before and after the DBS surgery. The study takes place in a clinic and a hospital in Brazil and follows special rules to make sure it's done properly. Only people with PD who have been told by a special doctor that they should get DBS surgery can join.

  • The study involves comparing movement abilities before and after DBS surgery.
  • Participants must have had PD for more than five years and be recommended for DBS.
  • People with severe heart issues or other major health problems cannot join.
