Parkinson Ballroom-Fitness (PB-Fit) is a special dance program for people with Parkinson's disease (PD). PD is a condition that affects the brain and makes movements like walking and balancing difficult. This study explores how dance can help improve these issues. Over seven weeks, participants will join dance sessions twice a week, learning dances like the waltz and swing. The study checks if dance helps with walking, balance, and overall happiness. They will also see if these improvements last 12 weeks after the program ends. The study includes about forty participants and is done with the help of the Danish Parkinson's Association. No travel costs will be covered for participants.

  • Duration: The study lasts for seven weeks with follow-up checks.
  • Involvement: Two dance sessions per week.
  • Risks: Possible muscle soreness and fatigue.

This study is led by Professor Martin Langeskov Christensen, and results will be shared with participants. Participants need to be 40 years or older, diagnosed with PD, and able to attend sessions independently or with help.
