This study is testing a new vaccine, AV-1980R, for people aged 65-80 who have early signs of Alzheimer's but no symptoms yet. Alzheimer's is a disease that affects the brain and memory. The vaccine targets a protein called tau that may cause problems in the brain. Up to 48 volunteers will get injections of the vaccine or a placebo (a harmless substance) to see if it's safe and if it helps the body fight the tau protein. Participants will get three shots over 38 weeks and have check-ups until Week 58. Researchers will check for side effects, how the immune system reacts, and changes in the brain and memory.
- Study lasts about 58 weeks with multiple visits.
- Participants will receive up to three shots.
- Focus is on safety and immune response.
