The HOPE Biobank Resource Study is a research project collecting samples and information from patients receiving blood-related treatments. These treatments include
hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HCT) which uses healthy blood stem cells to replace damaged ones, and
gene therapy (GT), which aims to fix genetic problems. The study will gather information from people with blood disorders like Aplastic Anemia (a condition where the body doesn't produce enough blood cells), Hemoglobinopathies (conditions like sickle cell disease affecting red blood cells), or bone marrow failure. Up to 375 patients and 100 donors will join over four years from 35 places. Participants will give blood and other samples before and after their treatment, and they might be followed for up to 15 years if more funding is available.
- No new treatment will be provided; your doctor will decide on care.
- Participants must weigh more than 10 kg (about 22 pounds).
- You need to sign a consent form to join (or a guardian for minors).
