This study looks at the best way to treat a brain cancer called glioblastoma (GBM). It compares two groups: one gets surgery plus a special radiation implant called GammaTile, and the other gets just surgery. GammaTile is a small radiation source that’s placed in the brain during surgery to kill cancer cells. Both groups will also get a standard treatment called TMZ (temozolomide), which is a pill that helps fight cancer.
The study lasts several months and involves many visits for treatment and check-ups. Patients must be 18 years or older and in good enough health to have surgery. Some patients, like those with certain types of tumors or allergies to specific medical tests, cannot join.
- Duration: The study involves several phases that last up to 12 months.
- Visits: Multiple visits are required for treatments and follow-ups.
- Risks: Possible side effects from surgery, radiation, and TMZ.
Participants will have regular check-ups to monitor safety, survival, and disease status. Data from unscheduled visits will be documented for safety evaluations.
