Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR) is a condition causing muscle pain and stiffness. This study is testing a drug called sarilumab to see if it helps people with early PMR. Participants will either get sarilumab or a placebo (a fake treatment) along with a medicine called prednisone for one year.
The study is randomized (participants are randomly chosen for different groups), double-blind (neither doctors nor participants know who gets the real treatment), and placebo-controlled (some people get a placebo). Visits include a screening, a baseline visit, several treatment visits over 52 weeks, and two final visits to end the treatment and study.
- The study is one year long, with several visits.
- Participants must be at least 50 years old and have PMR.
- Some conditions, like certain infections or other diseases, may exclude people from joining.
Overall, this study aims to find a better treatment for PMR while ensuring safety for participants.
