Observational Study of Decentralized Urine Optical Interaction Patterns Associated With Environmental Microplastic and Nanoplastic Exposure

Studying urine patterns linked to microplastic exposure, no treatment offered.

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase N/A

This study looks at the possibility of using smartphones to gather and analyze urine samples at home over 12 weeks. Microplastics are tiny plastic pieces, and nanoplastics are even smaller. The goal is to see if people can collect, prepare, and photograph urine using a smartphone app called EcoExposure™. Participants will use the TrialKit app to help with the process.

  • 12-week commitment: Participants will collect samples on specific days, with some daily collections.
  • Remote participation: Everything is done at home using your smartphone.
  • Optional "spike" sample: Add a small solution to one sample for technical evaluation.

This study is for adults 18 and older who can follow instructions and use a smartphone. It doesn't involve any medical diagnoses or treatments and aims to improve product development. Participants must be willing to complete tasks like urine collection, photographing samples, and uploading images. This study is safe, with no health risks involved.
