Barrigel® PPRT (Post-Prostatectomy Radiation Therapy) Trial is a study for men who have had their prostate removed due to cancer. It tests if Barrigel, a material that the body can absorb, can help protect the rectum from radiation used to treat cancer. By making a small space between the prostate bed and the rectum, Barrigel might lower the chance of radiation hitting the rectum. This study is prospective (looking forward), randomized (participants are randomly chosen for different groups), and controlled (compared with a group that does not receive Barrigel).
- Participants must be men aged 18 or older who had a prostatectomy and plan to receive radiation therapy.
- The study involves multiple visits to monitor the effects of Barrigel.
- Participants should not have certain medical conditions or treatments that might interfere with the study.
Potential participants should talk with their doctors to understand the benefits and risks of joining the trial.
