Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy

Exploring Psilocybin Therapy: A Clinical Trial Study

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase 2

This study looks at how safe and helpful psilocybin-assisted therapy is for PTSD, a condition some people get after a scary or dangerous experience. Psilocybin is a special chemical found in certain mushrooms. In this study, people will either get therapy with psilocybin or just therapy to see which works better. They will check how safe and comfortable this treatment is using some special questionnaires. The study will also look at how psilocybin helps with reducing stress and fears.

  • Study Length: Includes visits before, during, and 1 month after treatment.
  • Participation Requirements: Must be a military veteran or service member over 18 with PTSD.
  • Risks: Certain medical conditions or medications may prevent participation.

If someone wants to join, they need to be able to take pills, agree to video or audio recordings during sessions, and might have to fast or avoid certain medicines before treatment. People who can't give consent or have certain medical or mental health issues can't join. Participants must also use birth control if they could become pregnant. The study aims to find out if this therapy can help reduce PTSD symptoms safely.
