Study Overview: This study focuses on people with Parkinson's disease (PD), a condition affecting movement and other functions. We are exploring how different types of exercises can help improve muscle strength and overall physical function, especially for those with sarcopenia, which means losing muscle and strength.
Sarcopenia can lead to more falls and difficulty in daily activities. Our study will compare three groups: 1) Education Group—receiving nutritional advice and exercise tips; 2) Progressive Resistance Training (PRT) Group—with supervised strength exercises and brain tasks; 3) PRT plus Instability Group—similar to the PRT group but with extra balance challenges.
Participants will attend two physiotherapy sessions per week for 12 weeks. We'll measure changes in muscle strength, body composition, and functional performance at different times. These exercises are generally safe, with minor risks like muscle soreness.
- Duration: 12 weeks of exercise sessions.
- Visits: Three assessments (start, end, and follow-up).
- Risks: Low, such as minor muscle soreness.
